The story of Bettys began in Harrogate in 1919 and we’ve been welcoming locals and visitors to our café tea rooms ever since.

Before you enter, it’s worth pausing under the wrought iron canopy to feast your eyes on the mouth-watering window displays that vary with the season. Once inside the shop you’ll be spoilt for choice with over 300 breads, cakes and chocolates, as well as 50 different teas and coffees.

Our Café Tea Rooms at the RHS Gardens at Harlow Carr in Harrogate offer all the delights of a visit to Bettys – delicious cakes, dainty pastries, freshly baked bread and of course, the high standards and friendly smiles – but in a very different location.

The 58-acre garden can be found on the south-western outskirts of Harrogate, and is home to peaceful woodland, meadows, flower gardens and seven historical gardens from the BBC series ‘Gardens Through Time’.

The Drum and Monkey

The Drum and Monkey fish restaurant has been a Harrogate favourite for 30 years and is renowned among residents and visitors for its top quality seafood and the intimate, informal character of the interior.

The Tannin Level

The Tannin Level is one of Harrogate’s best known restaurants, located in the town centre; it has been a hall mark for 30 years.

With Michelin trained Dean Snowden conducting his kitchen and Victoria Gill co-ordinating the front of house, offers brilliant wines with a fantastic atmosphere.

Pizza Express remains hugely popular bedrock of casual eating. Its popularity is testimony to the fact that across the country, they have restaurants where you will always be guaranteed a good nosh, with children's tastes being well catered for.
